Located right next to Reina Victoria lift, one of Valparaiso's famous funiculars, Casa Elias Valpo offers accommodation with a terrace. The property is a 12-minute walk from Plaza Soto Mayor.
The shared dormitories come with a wardrobe, and they all have access to shared bathroom facilities and showers. There is a private bedroom, with shared bathroom. There are common areas at the property for guests to mingle or relax, as well as a shared kitchen available.
The rooftop terrace offers views of the city and the ocean.

Pretty average

The rooftop terrace was nice, the host even had a BBQ one night and was kind enough to invite us to eat.

We were not given sheets for our bed during our stay, the room was nice but the walls were very thin, there was a window in the door to the room which was a bit weird, breakfast was pretty average and there are cats roaming the hotel.

Everything in my stay has been amazing. Delicious home made bread and marmalade for breakfast, incredible location, clean and beautiful house and exquisite host. Thank you for such a welcoming and unforgettable stay!

Very good breakfast and good service!

Very good breakfast and good service! The hostal has a good location (although it is a bit hard to find without a sign outside)

The hostal is a bit hidden, but just look for the streetnumbers. It is just next to the funicular. There are more cats in the hostal and they are also walking in the bedrooms..

The location is excellent, just near main town see-sights.

The location is excellent, just near main town see-sights. The staff was nice and helpful. The atmosphere at the barbecue party was really good and relaxing. And there are two so much amazing cats living in the hostel! The little one slept with me in my bed :)

Very central location.

Not clean and few showers/toilets for the number of guests. Noisy at night. Pricing is not very transparent as you can only pay by cash in pesos and therefore pay the tax, which you should be able to avoid by paying by card or in USD.

Lovely host, perfect location.

The atmosphere was really good, thanks to Neve, she was a super host, very relaxed. She took us the first night with her car to some nice viewpoints. Also she organized an american BBQ. Because of these things there was a very social feel. I had an awesome experience. Oh yes and the rooftop was perfect.

It was not very clean (like the fridge or the showers), and some work needs to be done to make it great.

Impolite service, dirty bed, cold in the room. Everywhere cats and smell of cats. Animal enter in room and walk on your bed.We were waiting check inn more then 3 hours cause on the reception were only children.

Friendly hostel in perfect location

Excellent location and friendly staff. I could keep the key even after check-out.

Rooms are quiet small (difficult for the luggage). Hostel is full of cats (they go into the dorm rooms - just to let allergic people know)

Kind of what a hostel used to be, and maybe should still be!

There is no way to describe Elias Valpo... it technically shouldn't work but it doesn't. I should have hated it but I loved it. Nevenka our host was great and made sure we had an amazing New Years Eve evening.

A bit disorganized, it's technically a student's house so there's already this group that exist and doesn't really mix with people...

Excelente lugar

La ubicación es privilegiada, cerca de todo. Tiene buenos espacios comunes como su terraza y su dueña es muy amable y simpática.

A la puerta de la habitación le faltaba la manilla, por lo que solo cerraba por dentro, un detalle.

La casa es muy bonita y está en una ubicación inmejorable. Estuvimos con mi hija de 6 años y ambos lo pasamos muy bien. Realmente nos sentimos cómodos y bien atendidos.

Un buen desayuno, surtido y con pan integral hecho por Nevenka, la dueña. Ella es una más de los que pasamos por el hostal, sólo que ella se queda. La ubicación, a 5 minutos del Club Alemán, el salón donde bailo tango.

Es una casa antigua, por lo que la mantención es cara. Hay mucha acumulación de objetos en los pasillos. La cocina se ve desordenada.

Habitación amplia e iluminada. La recepcionista me acomodó en una pieza compartida, pero asegurándome que esa noche estaría solo. Muy buena ubicación en el centro del carrete. Funciona sobre la base de la confianza mutua con los huéspedes.

Hermosa estadía

El hostel es hermoso, la ubicación es en un barrio con mucha movida a la noche, música, bares, etc. Además, cerca del centro y la plaza Sotomayor. Neve, su dueña, nos atendió muy bien y hasta tomamos un pequeño tour con ella por las vistas más hermosas de Valparaíso desde lo alto de sus cerros. La terraza es hermosa y las gatitas adorables.

Increíble ubicación, todo cerca. Casona antigua muy linda, el personal y las gatitas todo excelente!
